our city.
Young people are exposed to many dangers
everywhere.
Young people need our help.
We, the Salesians and our diligent laypersons
in the parish of St. John Bosco, gather the children and young people of our
parish and other communities in western Zagreb. As we currently lack the
necessary space, we have decided to build the new PASTORAL CENTRE OF St. John Bosco.

The new
pastoral centre of the parish of St. John Bosco represents the currently
missing premises of the Oratory of the parish in Podsused (Zagreb, Croatia),
which is led by the Salesians of Don Bosco, and completes the area of the
square in front of the monastery and the church of St. John Bosco.
The centre
is planned on the site of the existing outdoor playground and the monastery
garages. According to the project, the new premises will be accessible from the
existing square. A new outdoor playground with bleachers is also planned on the
roof, which will be located on the level of the current playground and side
entrance to the monastery.

Particular
attention was paid to the premises of the Salesian Oratory and the specific
pastoral work of the Salesians with young people.
The focal
point of the entire area is the large Oratory hall, whereby the outer area of
the porch represents an extension and a transition from the inside to the outside.

The new
pastoral centre completes the premises of the parish (including the lacking housekeeping
facilities) and the urbanisation of the outside area in front of the church.
The
pastoral centre visually fits into the height difference of the existing slope
in Podsused and, with its external design, includes all newly planned content.
